Going underground

We can't come on any Connor's excursion without having to search out some coffee shop or restaurant that is named in a travel guide for it's excellence or quirkiness. Well this trip is no exception. Luckily this time, the Ethiopian coffee shop SIDAMO was only about 4 blocks from our apartment and it was still a coffee shop, and was open! :-) Their coffee wasn't bad either apparently! I had tea. They do an Ethiopian coffee ceremony on a Sunday but we just got good service being a Friday.

Caffine'd up, time for today's adventure to commence.

Off to visit Lincoln today (as in ex president rather than the city! - did u know he had wooden dentures?)
Instead of walking the whole length of the mall again, it was time to introduce Katy to underground travel. Back to union station to catch the metro. Alas their elevator was out of order so we had no alternative but to take the buggy down the escalator. But after an initial try with Katy out in daddies arms, it wasn't so hard (going down), and we all arrived safely on the platform. Shoe horned ourselves onto a couple of trains before arriving at the smithsonian stop, half way down The Mall, with a working elevator no less back up to the sunshine!

  1. Good pic of Stu and Katy in Metro Station, but where did he get the Lincoln hat?
