Early voting

Past a homeless womans refuge where it's mix of down and outs and surprisingly well turned out down on their luck ladies were waiting in line outside, to get a bed for the night.

It's election time coming up this week. That's why the senate etc was out of session until Nov when we went to the Capitol building today. This was to allow the senators to head home and ramp up their campaigns to get as many votes as they can. Early voting is allowed at polling stations for the werk prior to the actial polling day and we walked past one on our route up D street towards Union station. Plackards everywhere, pushed into the flower beds a few feet from the entrance, but only so close. There was a designated area in which the campaigning could take place, with signs denoting specific campaigning spots for each delegate! It was almost like a picket line or a demonstration area. People can go and vote up to a week before election day. A good idea I think.

Past the front of union station and the huge liberty bell standing on display. Getting dark now tho. I shall have to return and get a better picture in the daylight!

Then home, and bath for our sleepy little pickle. She gad a great time, smiling away in the bubbles. I would say having a soak but Katy sees bath time as mire of a kicking practice splashing session! Daddy enjoyed the fact that the bath is real low and so easier to keep hold of her!

Takaway from the Italian a few doors away and then lots of Zzzs all round. Busy day! But looking forward to another one in the morning. At least nothing planned first thing tomorrow. A more leisurely start I think!
